The Windows Experience Index: Measure the Capability of Your Computer’s Hardware and Software Configuration.The Windows Experience Index measures the capability of your computer’s hardware and software.

In this exercise,students will measure their machines hardware and software capability and capture a screenshot of the results.Go to Start > Help and Support

1. In the search box type: Windows experience index. Click on the first result. On the next page, read the information provided and then click on the link entitled > Click to open Performance Information and Tools.

2. View the Windows Experience Index base score and sub scores for your computer. If you recently upgraded your hardware and want to find out if your score has changed, click Re-run the assessment. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. If you do not see sub scores and a base score, click Rate this computer. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation,type the password or provide confirmation.

3. When you are finished viewing your results, click on the link entitled “view and print detailed performance and system information.”

4. Save the results and upload the file to your Unit II Assignment as either a Word document or a PDF.

In this assignment, students will use the Windows Device Manager to gather information about different drivers and learn how Device Manager manages drivers. Students will answer questions about the features of the Device Manager.

The following equipment is required for this exercise:
