Informative and Persuasive Speech Differences
COLLAPSE
Distinguish between informative and persuasive speaking. What specifically is the difference between the two and how can persuasive speaking potentially be more difficult?
Remember that your discussion response must include the following:
SUBJECTInformative and Persuasive Speech Differences
Informative and persuasive speeches have both similarities and differences. I agree that both speeches have a point to get across to a specific audience. Informative speeches are meant to educate your audience. My goal is to teach the audience something that they might not know already. My hope is that the audience will leave the speech being able to educate someone else on my topic. I love the illustration that you used for your informative speech. I never thought about it in that way. When I think about giving an informative speech I think about conducting a class at work for my job. I would have to explain and educate my audience on my specific job duties. Like you said a persuasive speech’s goal is to persuade a specific opinion or viewpoint on a matter to the audience. I also feel like this type of speech is more difficult to deliver than an informative speech. With an informative speech it is a lot of facts. However with a persuasive speech I feel like more emotion goes into the speech especially if it is a topic that you are passionate about. The example about the attorney defending her client is a great way to explain a persuasive speech. An attorney’s main job is to persuade a jury that the client is innocent or guilty on a daily basis. Another example of someone that might use persuasive speeches daily for their job would be a salesperson (Lucas 2015). Their main job is to convince you that the product they are selling is something that you have to have and can not live without. Some of them are very good at their jobs and can persuade even the toughest person to buy the product. Overall I think we have very similar views on both of these types of speeches.

Thinking Ahead to Your Persuasive Speech
COLLAPSE
What is a topic you have in mind for your upcoming Persuasive Speech? Explain the organizational pattern you will use potential main points that would support your goal ofpersuading the audience.
The topic I decided to choose for this week assignement is about the homeless and how we can help make changes. I choose this topic because I personality knew a family who were homeless. They were hard workers and made a move with friends who used them and then just left them hanging and allow them to live in the streets with three kids. I will explain what the estimated amount of people that are homeless.Did you know that there are over 564708 people who are homeless and out of that number 206286 are families.I say estimated because not everyone goes to try and get help.will also explain that it can happen to anyone at any given timeThat there are many ways that you can become homeless some are substance abuse divorce evictions fires natural disasters (floods hurricanes tornadoes) these are just a small amount of things that could casuefor someone to become homeless. Then I will tell you about the orginazationsyou can contact for help or even volunteer at and what all types of help that can offered. Most communities have Salvation Army or churches in they community that helps in some type of way. To end my speech I will explain to you why it is so imporantto help others less forturanteand how it can make you feel by doing so. Also you can get your family involved and set great values in your children at the same time
